The driving force behind Ambiswami Catering Services is M.S. Krishna Iyer, also known as Ambiswami, affectionately known as the brand ambassador of Kerala Sadhya. The natives, who are fond of his culinary expertise, started calling M.S. Krishna Iyer "Ambiswami," thus making him the most celebrated culinary expert in Kerala. From assisting his father Sangameswaran to becoming a household name, the founder of Ambiswami Catering Services, Ambiswami left a legacy to be followed by his next generation. Sangameswaran, the father of Ambiswami, was his mentor. His father carved a name for himself at that time; he was a renowned cooking wizard and has handled numerous wedding caterings. By working alongside his father, it didn't take long for Ambiswami to perfect his culinary skills and earn accolades and trust from clients. Ambiswami started his culinary journey at the tender age of 17 by preparing Kalyana Sadhya. He was a person who didn't let the unique tastes be confined to the kitchens of the Brahmin families. He was instrumental in revealing those unique flavours to the world and became a pioneer in the field.
The Beginning of Ambiswami Catering Services
After the demise of his father, Ambiswami took over. Started as a modest business in the year 1960 by the eminent Ambiswami in Minalur, Ambiswami Catering Services has flourished to become South India’s leading catering service company, specialising in traditional vegetarian Sadhyas prevailing in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Ambiswami's Palada Payasam is equally renowned across the world. Thrissur folks say: "If you want to experience the real taste of Payasam, try Ambiswami's Palada." With gifted hands and utmost devotion, Ambiswami charmed the palates of many. Here at Ambiswami Catering Services, we place great emphasis on the quality of our ingredients, fresh and without any additives, as they help in preparing exceptional food with the best quality, distinctive taste, and nutritional benefits. Ingredients for preparing dishes, including milk, were sourced from Ambiswami’s own dairy. We even assess the quality of the water before preparation (at the venue), as it directly impacts the taste of our food. Before his demise, Ambiswami passed down the rich culinary heritage to his dearest sons, preserving the rich legacy of their family. And for the last 55 years, Ambiswami Catering Services has been operating from Thrissur, Kerala, under the stewardship of his cherished sons, offering the same distinguished taste and quality synonymous with their father. With 65+ years of collective domain experience, Ambiswami Catering Services has been setting the benchmark for catering services in South India and overseas.   • Our journey is marked by a series of remarkable accomplishments. Among the most notable and one of the biggest high-profile events for which Ambiswami, along with his father, orchestrated the catering was the wedding and reception of former Kerala Chief Minister Mr. K. Karunakaran. The wedding was held at Guruvayur Temple in 1954, attended by many esteemed politicians and celebrities.
  • We were privileged to serve at the star-studded wedding ceremony of Indian film producer K Balaji’s granddaughter in Chennai, boasting an attendance of over 2500 guests.
  • A news coverage acknowledged Ambiswami as the caterer for the wedding of former Kerala Chief Minister Mr. E.K. Nayanar's son at Guruvayur Temple.
  • Notably, during the Kerala school youth festivals, Ambiswami led a team of 75 to serve food every day to around 9000 people from 2002 to 2006.
  • We cater to simple, intimate events as well. We have been the preferred catering service provider to our clients in Bangkok for their onam festivity for the last 3 years, offering services that’s second to none.
  • The person behind preparing the wedding sadhya at the residences of former minister of cooperation, Mr. C.N. Balakrishnan, and former home minister of Kerala, Mr. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, was none other than Ambiswami.
